CHAN Joshua 陳錦標 Dr. Joshua Chan is Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong where he has been teaching since 1995. He has written 190 compositions and arrangements, in diversified styles, for various media including orchestral, electronic, chamber, vocal, theatre, ballet, and pop recording. International events in which Chan's work were featured include: International Rostrum of Composers (1988, 1993, 2002, 2005); ISCM World Music Days (1995, 2002 & 2007); International Computer Music Conference (1993); Asian Composers' League Conference & Festival (1990, 1992, 2010, 2011 & 2012); Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra Concert (1998); ballet performances by the London Studio Centre in 7 cities in UK (2002); the First Chinese Composers Festival (1986); Hong Kong Arts Festival (1984, 1994, 1998-2001); New Zealand International Arts Festival (2004); Singapore Chinese Orchestra Session Concert (2001); the Fifth Asia-Pacific Harmonica Festival (2004); Musicarama Festivals (1992-2012); the Fifth Osaka International Chamber Music Festa (2005), etc. Chan's works have been published on 10 compact discs of 7 different labels. Chan also serves the community as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Composers' Guild; the Chairman of the Asian Composers League (2007-2012); the Chairman of the CDC-HKEAA Committee on Music Curriculum (Senior Secondary of the new 3+3+4 academic system) and an Expert Advisor for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. LEUNG Chi Hin 梁智軒 Dr. Chi-hin Leung was born in a metropolitan city - Hong Kong. With diverse cultural background, his compositions mix with both East and West thoughts, and with special interests in timbral and textural explorations. Leung’s compositions and recordings are published by Schott Music (Germany), MOECK (Germany), Edition HH (U.K.), PARMA Recordings (U.S.), From the Top Music (U.S.), Oxford University Press (China) and Hong Kong Composers’ Guild. BOO Chun Kit 布俊傑 Boo Chun Kit graduated in 2016 from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in composition and electronic music. Afterwards, he pursued further study in the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Media (MFACM) degree programme at City University of Hong Kong and graduated in 2018. He was selected to take part in Sig. Tune for Hong Kong Museum of Art: Creative Music Programme in 2019. He composed A Flowing Tune of Paints under the theme of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. This work has been broadcast in the exhibition and different media platforms. Besides, his duet piece Worries have been performed in different concerts. He is also keen on multimedia production, and exploring the possibilities of music through different presentations and perspectives. HO Anna Vienna 何雅鈉 Born in Hong Kong, Anna Vienna Ho is a versatile musician whose career spans roles as concert pianist, répétiteur, composer, opera singer and conductor. She has worked with organisations including Welsh National Opera, Birmingham Opera Company and Opera Novella. Anna has been selected as an Artist by Du Vert à l'Infini festival, Syntropy, RMN Classical, Cities and Memory, and the Montpelier Arts Center Classical Recital. Anna holds an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma and a Master of Music in Piano Performance (with distinction) from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University. During her studies she received numerous awards and scholarships. A prizewinner in several international piano competitions, Anna’s honours include awards at the Concours International Léopold Bellan, Rome International Music Competition, International Robert Schumann Klavier Wettbewerb, Internationaler Deutscher Irmler‑Klavierwettbewerb and the Abergavenny Eisteddfod Y Fenni. As a pianist she has given solo recitals and appeared in prestigious concert halls across Asia and Europe, including the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Town Hall, Parco della Musica, Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall and Hong Kong City Hall. Anna also performs actively as a vocalist. Passionate about opera, her repertoire ranges from the Baroque to the contemporary. Stage roles include Giannetta in L'elisir d'amore, Frasquita in Carmen, First Lay Sister in Suor Angelica for Musica Viva, Geraldine in A Hand of Bridge for HKIIM, the Third Apparition in Verdi's Macbeth for Opera In A Box and Gherardino in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi for London Gay Symphony Orchestra. CHEN Chi Wai 陳智偉 Dr. Jason Chen graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music in 1995 with a Bachelor of Music Degree, majoring in composition and piano with a 4-year scholarship. He later furthered his musical studies at the Hong Kong Baptist University, receiving the Master of Arts (majoring in composition and electro-acoustic music) and Diploma of Education (majoring in Music) respectively in 2000 and 2002. A composer, pianist and researcher, he studied jazz piano and arranging with Prof. Kim Park, and composition under tutorship of Prof. James Mobberley and Prof. John Chen, and has written over 40 compositions including works for orchestra, chamber music, electroacoustic music and writing music for TV commercials, movie soundtracks. His works have been published by Warner music, Universal music, Sony music, Capital Artist, What’s music and EEG Records. Jason is currently the Assistant Professor in the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts at the Hong Kong Institute of Education. He is also a PhD in music technology at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University, Australia, researching on multi-media music composition. His articles have been published by the top-ranked journals such as International Journal of Music Education, Research Studies in Music Education and Music Education Research. YUNG Sin Kan Bonnie 翁蒨懃 Full of tension and unpredictability, Yung Sin-K=kan Bonnie’s music often draws inspiration from tiny moments of daily life, and yet there is no lack of philosophical notions in her music. Born and raised in Hong Kong, a multicultural city, her music is well-articulated and daring, often filled with great polarities. Her experience in Estonia and her interest in poetry and literature adds a distinctive taste to her music. Yung has been selected by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra to participate in the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Composers Scheme. She was also commissioned by Hong Kong Baptist University Choir and has collaborated with Placard Quintet, ESTICA Quintet, and various ensembles in Hong Kong and Europe. Yung obtained her Master’s degree in Music (Classical Composition) cum laude at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre under the tutelage of Toivo Tulev, and Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) in Music (First Honour) at Hong Kong Baptist University under the tutelage of Eugene Birman. LUK Wai Chun 陸尉俊 Luk Wai Chun earned his Doctor of Music degree (D. Mus.) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He loves exploring different kinds of musical style. He went to the University of South Florida(USF) as a visiting scholar to study jazz music and conduct research on Latin American Music. Later, he traveled to Cuba, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil for conducting music fieldwork on Latin American music. During his doctoral study, Luk received various scholarships, including the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Scholarship, the ICS Mok Hing Cheong Postgraduate Scholarship, and the Music Scholarship (Local Studies) from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund. Wai-Chun collaborated with different music groups, artists from various places, for example, Trey Lee, Zhang Ying, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble, Nanjing Chinese Orchestra, Ding Yi Music Company (Singapore), Ensemble Mise-en (USA), Red Chamber (Canada) and Tacet(i) Ensemble (Thailand), etc. His Chinese instrumental work “Tan-Tiao Rock” won the Gold Prize in Combination of Musical Instruments of the Same Category at 2021 "Dunhuang Award" for Chinese Chamber Music, another pipa solo work "Jazz Pipa” earned the Silver Award in Dunhuang Award for New Works for Pipa Solo in 2017. LAU Hiu Lam 劉曉霖 Born in Hong Kong, LAU graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) with a Master of Music in 2016, majoring in composition with Dr. Cheung Pui-shan. She has cooperated with different musicians and groups and her works have been premiering in Hong Kong since 2012. In 2016, LAU is awarded the Cecil Leong Scholarship (Postgraduate). And in 2015, LAU was awarded the Lions Joseph Koo Music Foundation Scholarship and the Stella & Bryan Carter Music Scholarship. LAU graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2014, with the Bachelor degree in Arts (Hons) (Composition and music production). She had studied with Prof. Christopher Keyes and Dr. Christopher Coleman. Lau is also a pianist and was awarded the LTCL in Piano Recital in 2013. LAU is an all-rounded and innovative composer. She has composed different kinds of music such as orchestral works, chamber works, choral works and electronic music. LAU also composes music with multimedia, such as images and videos; and also pop songs and hymns. Besides, LAU keens on participating in different kinds of composition competitions. She attended the RTHK New Generation 2013. And in July 2013, LAU won the championship of a song competition which was held by Christian Nationals’ Evangelism Commission. Apart from compositions, LAU is currently being a conductor in primary school, elderly center and also the CNEC Sweet Aroma Church Choir. During her studies at HKBU, LAU was a member of Cantoria Hong Kong. YUNG Sing Nga Rita 翁聲雅 Rita Yung received her Master's degree in composition at the University of Texas at Austin and her Bachelor’s degree at Hong Kong Baptist University. She studied with Galison Lau, Christopher Coleman, Christopher J Keyes, Nina C. Young, Annie Gosfield, and Yevgeniy Sharlat. As a composer, Yung writes for both acoustic and electronic mediums.
