Lui Tsz-yan 呂芷茵 Lui Tsz Yan is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Music at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, studying the Pipa under the guidance of Zhang Ying, Principal Pipa Player of the Hong Kong Chinese Music Orchestra. Lui is proficient in performing a wide range of Chinese and Western instruments. For Chinese instruments: Pipa, Dizi, Erhu, and Liuqin, all at a professional performance level; for Western instruments: Flute, Cello, Drumsets, among others. She has also attained Grade 2 (Highest Level) in Chinese Music Theory from the Central Conservatory of Music and Grade 8 in Music Theory from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), with years of ensemble performance experience. Currently, Lui serves as an executive committee member and Cello section player of the Hong Kong New Tune Music Orchestra, as well as a Dizi player in the Chung Chi Chinese Orchestra of CUHK and Pipa player in the Yue Pipa Ensemble. In recent years, Lui has actively explored composition, with published works including Western chamber ensemble “Autumn Sorrow” and Plucked-string chamber ensemble “A Glimpse of Memories”. LAW Wing-fai 羅永暉 Law Wing-fai (Solo Theatre) is a leading composer in Hong Kong, and one of the few to have crossed over the boundary between commercial music and the arts. He is currently a Composer-in-Residence at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and Artistic Director of Wuji Ensemble. Law graduated from the University of California with a Master’s degree in Music (Composition and Electronic Music). He worked closely with Hong Kong’s New Wave directors in films during the 1980’s, having scored for more than 20 films including the award-winning Boat People, Dream Lovers and A Simple Life. He was the founding Head of Composition of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, a position which he subsequently held for many years. During the 1990’s, he was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University where he gave lectures and wrote music. On returning to Hong Kong, he found a new angle in music composition, which resulted in many important works using Chinese-Western mixed instrumentation, the most representative of which are When Mountains Roar and Linli. He also founded Wuji Ensemble, a group that is known for its unique character. In May 2008, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra presented a critically acclaimed concert featuring Law’s works. With a diverse oeuvre spanning serious and commercial music, Law has written for pop music, commercials, drama, opera and in particular, for over a dozen dance dramas such as Song of the Good Earth and Rouge. His long list of accolades include the Irino Memorial Award presented at the Asian Composers’ League, the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Original Score, “Composer of the Year” by the Hong Kong Artists’ Guild, and being selected as one of the “Twentieth Century Masterpieces by Chinese Composers” by the Chinese Culture Promotion Society in Beijing. Law’s score for the drama production The Peach Blossom Fan was awarded “Best Original Music” by the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies. LEUNG Wing-hang 梁永恆 Toccata Leung (artist name: Quantum-s-Rabbit) has created more than 60 MIDI music on the web. He is enthusiastic in promoting rock music education. He has been a rock and roll instructor in many schools and institutions. He actively composes music and can play many different types of instruments. Leung was a teacher of electronic music class at Yau Ma Tei Catholic Primary School (Hoi Wang Road), a musician of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, a tenor of the Ming Yi Chorus, and a small chamber band leader and composer of MI Live.  In addition, he has re-written school songs for HSBC Early Childhood Education, composed music for TV commercials, Japanese animation, stage plays, Internet pages and games. Because of his passion for Japanese animation music, he used to be the musician and composer of the Hong Kong ACG band "Wagashi", the instructor of the primary and middle school students’ band, and the original Japanese music composer of the network platform NicoNico. The Ensemble bears the artistic motto ‘Small but Elegant, Simple yet Refined’ of characteristic Chinese music, passing on Cantonese, Hakka and Chiuchow music culture. Since its establishment, it has presented over 50 series concerts and 400 outreach concerts, commissioned and premièred over 20 new works by Hong Kong composers, and cooperated with many international and local maestros. In 2011, conductor Ho Man-chuen was appointed as its Artistic Adviser, and the Ensemble’s founder Chan Chiu-yin was appointed as its Executive Director. Currently it is a grant recipient of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and a registered non-profit-making organization in Hong Kong. Representing Hong Kong, the Ensemble has been engaging in various cultural exchange performances in over 20 countries and regions. HKCC is now the biggest choir in the world and has grown into a diversified arts organization for children. HKCC is invited to perform overseas each year, spreading the message of love and peace in different parts of the world. The Choir has been well received and appreciated in many countries, gaining an international reputation as the “Little Goodwill Singing Ambassadors” and “one of the best children’s choirs in the world”. HKCC was named “China’s Top Ten Children Chorus” in 2003 and won the prestigious “Award of the Audience” at the “Vivace 2006 International Choir Festival” in Hungary. In 2008, the choir was awarded the “Gold Cup” from “Shanghai International Children’s Chorus Festival”. In 2014, HKCC is selected by the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) as one of the IFCM Ambassadors for 2013 to 2015. The Choir was invited to perform in the 2014 “10th World Symposium on Choral Music” in South Korea and 2015 “The 1st IFCM World Choral Expo” in Macau. TANG Hoi-ching Katie 滕鎧晴 Katie is currently studying at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts major in Composition and Electronic Music. Katie is enthusiastic in exploring the relationship of human and nature, thus the relationship of physics and philosophy in the form of art. She is keen on discussing the purpose of life, imagination of utopianism, reality and physics elements that could not be seen with human eye. Her music focused on the timbre of different instrumental sounds and attempted to explore different combination of sound spectrum played by different instruments. She aims to create a musical space for audience to rethink their innatism and stimulates creative imagination that could be brought to our daily life. Her music has been performed by the Academy’s contemporary ensemble and the Academy choir. She has also been selected to participate the music festival “SoundMine 2022” in Belgium in summer 2022 in tuition by Prof. Wim Henderickx, Professor of composition in Antwerp and Amsterdam.
