    YIP Shu-kin Stephen 葉樹堅 Stephen Yip’s music have been described as post-modernist in style, with Asian roots, gives the inner colors of an advanced spatial sense....... Yip was born in Hong Kong and now living in U.S.A. He received his doctor of musical arts (D.M.A.) at Rice University and bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.) at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, studied with Law Wing-fai, Clarence Mak, and Arthur Gottschalk. He has attended major music festivals including: Wellesley Composers Conference, Aspen Music Festival, Asian Composers’ League, ISCM World Music Days, Chinese Composers’ Festival, IMPULS Ensemble Akademie, Luxembourg, the International Summer Course for New Music, Darmstadt, Germany, Wellesley Composers’ Conference. Residencies include: the Atlantic Centre for the Arts, Yaddo Colony and MacDowell Colony. Yip’s works have been performed in the Asia, Europe and America. He has received several composition prizes, included “Salvatore Martirano Memorial Composition Award”, “Taiwan Music Center International Composition Prize”, “Robert Avalon International Prize”, “Singapore International Composition Competition for Chinese Orchestra”, the ALEA III composition Competition, and the 2010 Alvarez Chamber Orchestra Freestyle Composition Competition, London, England. His works are recorded in the ERM-Media, PARMA, Capstone, North South recording, Ablaze records, ATMA Classique, and Beauport Classical labels. Yip is a member of the SCI, NACUSA, and ASCAP.   • MAK Clarence 麥偉鑄 | Hong Kong Composers' Guild

    MAK Clarence 麥偉鑄 Clarence Mak was born in Hong Kong. After graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Pennsylvania State University in USA, he returned to Hong Kong with his master degree, as a free-lance composer giving talks and workshops in arts institutes and organizations. He joined the music Faculty of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, teaching composition, electronic music and theory, studied music programming at Stanford University's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics, and was invited to be the visiting artist at the University of Missouri at Kansas City Conservatory of Music, and the teaching professor in the International Summer Course in Monthureux Le Sec in France. Mak is a founding member of the Academy Electronic Music Studio. His compositions have been featured in concerts locally and internationally, such as Contemporary Music Festival in London, the International Computer Music Symposium in Taiwan, ISCM New Music Festivals in Romania and Hong Kong, ICMC Computer Music Festival in Beijing and Hong Kong, Electronic Music Festival in USA, Percussion Music Festival in Germany, and ACL Music Festivals. Mak was the secretary, the treasurer, and Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Composers' Guild from 1987 to 2008 respectively and now is the council director. He has been invited to be the adjudicator for international composers’ competitions, and the chief delegate to present Hong Kong composers' works in the Asian-Pacific Music Festivals, the International Rostrums, and the ISCM Festivals. Clarence Mak is currently Head of Composition and Electronic Music at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. 麥偉鑄出生於香港。畢業於香港中文大學和美國賓夕法尼亞州立大學,獲碩士學位後回港,以自由職業作曲家身份到多個院校及藝術機構講學和舉辦創意音樂工作坊。其後受聘於香港演藝學院,教授作曲、電子音樂和理論。曾多次到史丹福大學電腦音樂中心(CCRMA)研究音樂程式編寫及聲響學,並獲密蘇里大學堪薩斯城音樂學院邀請為訪問藝術家,及於法國索恩皮尼勒塞克國際夏日音樂營教授作曲。於1990年創辦了香港演藝學院的電子音樂室。 作品常發表於本地和海外的音樂會、音樂節、和研討會。於1987至2008年間分別曾任香港作曲家聯會秘書、司庫和副主席,現為理事,推廣音樂創作。多次獲邀擔任國際作曲家比賽評判、國際電腦音樂會議的選曲委員、及代表香港出席亞太音樂節、國際現代音樂節、國際作曲家會議。 麥氏現任香港演藝學院作曲及電子音樂系主任。 MAJOR WORKS 主要作品 Back

    IP Mun-wa 葉滿華 Ip Mun Wa, graduated a Master of Art in Music from Chinese Univesity of Hong Kong and Bachelor of Education (Honors) from Hong Kong Institute of Education. He studied composition under the guidance of Dr. Lai Sheung-Ping. Ip has awarded the Champion of Music Lesson Planning Competition held by Hong Kong Association for Music Education, 2nd running up of the Chinese Music Composition Contest at Hong Kong Music Festival, winner of the HKIED’s Artistic Excellence Award (Academic)(2008) and finalist in HKIED’s Artistic Excellence Award (2006-08).     SHIU Wai Yau William 邵偉祐 SHIU Wai Yau, William is a Hong Kong-born composer, conductor and performer of piano, clarinet and French Horn. William obtained a master’s degree in music composition under the guidance of Jesse Broekman at KASK & Conservatorium, Ghent, Belgium. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition from Hong Kong Baptist University, studying from Christopher Keyes and Camilo Mendez. William’s compositions span a wide range of genres from chamber ensembles, orchestra, open-form to multimedia works. His music has been performed and exhibited in Hong Kong, Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, etc. Ensemble/organisation William have collaborated with including K622 Clarinet Ensembles (Hong Kong)、Orkest de Ereprijs (Netherlands)、Cello Wercken Zutphen (Netherlands) and Peter Benoit Fonds (Belgium). In 2024, he was awarded the Ereprijs Xtra commission to compose a new work for the 2025 Andriessen Festival. In addition to composing, William has studied orchestral conducting with CHOI Ho Man and Kristiina Poska at HKBU and KASK & Conservatorium respectively. He participated the conducting masterclass by Symfonie Orkest Vlaanderen (Belgium). He is also actively involved in conducting new music and is an accomplished arranger of folk music and popular works from Hong Kong and Belgium. Ensemble William have arranged for including Men of Winds, Shinywinds, Cyber Symphonic Winds, Sforzando Wind Ensemble (Hong Kong), Gents Universitair Harmonie Orkest (Belgium). William was the young ambassador of Belgian National Orchestra in 2023-24 for the promotion of classical orchestral music. In 2025 he formed 'The Maniacs'. The ensemble Interprets any crazy ideas 'hilariously but seriously' from sound-based performances. They regularly perform innovative and bold contemporary music works around the world, alongside new compositions by local composers. It is a platform to promote their music and offers a broader artistic vision to the audience. 邵偉祐是香港作曲、指揮家,以及鋼琴、單簧管和法國號樂手。邵氏畢業於比利時根特藝術學院作曲碩士及香港浸會大學音樂文學士(作曲主修),在校分別師承Jesse Broekman、祈道緯教授和Camilo Mendez。 他的作品涵蓋室內樂、管弦樂、開放形式作品、到多媒體作品等多種聲音創作種類,並曾於香港、荷蘭、比利時、和葡萄牙等地展出或演出。合作過的團體包括K622 Clarinet Ensembles (香港)、Orkest de Ereprijs (荷蘭)、Cello Wercken Zutphen (荷蘭)及 Peter Benoit Fonds (比利時)等。2024 年他更獲得荷蘭現代音樂樂團Orkest de Ereprijs委約,於2025年Andriessen Festival中創作全新管弦樂作品。 作曲以外,偉祐曾師承蔡浩文先生及Kristiina Poska學習管弦樂團指揮,並曾參與Flanders Symphonic Orchestra指揮大師班(比利時),他熱衷於指揮當代音樂及改編香港和比利時的流行音樂與民歌,其曾經合作之樂團包括五十男樂團、眾樂團、香港網樂管樂團、聲大夾樂管樂社(香港)、根特大學管樂團(比利時)等。在比利時留學期間他曾於Belgian National Orchestra擔任青年大使,推廣管弦樂團音樂。 於2025年由他所成立之「香港狂人樂團」,以「狂而不妄」為原則,透過聲音為主的演出,認真地表達各種天馬行空的想法。樂團定期演奏世界各地創新而大膽的當代音樂作品,結合本地作曲家全新作品,提供一個平台推廣他們的音樂,為觀眾帶來更廣闊的藝術視野。 MAJOR WORKS 主要作品 26.     SHING Chun-hay 成俊曦 SHING Chun-hay identifies creativity with its power to inspire new perception of music, art and life. His works have travelled across continents, performed in concerts and music festivals in—to name some recent locations—Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Thailand, Russia and the USA. He has been named the winner of Rapee Sagarik Composition Award in the 15th Thailand International Composers Competition in 2019 for his piano quartet light-dark (Chiaroscuro). In 2018, his All memories are moistened, selected from over 800 anonymous submissions, was a finalist in Moscow State Conservatory's International Competition for Young Composers “New Classics”. It was subsequently premiered at Rachmaninov Hall and in the following year reprogrammed in a concert of Studio for New Music (Moscow, Russia). As a composer, Shing has worked with many musicians in his native Hong Kong and overseas, including pianist Mary Wu, conductor Lio Kuokman, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong Band Directors Association Wind Orchestra, Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, Ensemble Kochi (Japan), Juventas New Music Ensemble (Boston, USA), and Ensemble Mise-en (New York, USA). His music has been featured in Taipei International Choral Competition, Asian Composers League's Asian Music Festival (Tokyo, Japan), the first anniversary of Asia Culture Center (Gwangju, South Korea), and at the Esplanade in Singapore. His other accolades include the First Prize of New Generation 2015, David Gwilt Composition Prize, Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Scholarship and Talent Development Scholarship. Alea Publishing and Recording has published his Moon over the West River, for clarinet and piano.     WONG Hok-yeung Alfred 黃學揚 Born in Hong Kong, Wong’s music has been performed worldwide, Voice of Heritage was received “2014 CASH Golden Sail Music Awards” - Best Serious Composition, Nocturne to the Victoria Harbourand An Illusive Dream were awarded Bronze in the 'Xinyi Cup' for distinctive works for Chinese orchestra by young composers and compositions for the youth orchestra respectively, Flame was selected in International Society for Contemporary Music 2009, etc. In recent years, he is active in writing Chinese instrumental music with more than a hundred output, including theatre music The Eight Immortals' Adventures and The Eight Immortals' Adventures Prequel, jointly presented by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and the Hong Kong Repertory theatre. Besides, Wong often serves as a conductor, he has been invited to conduct in Taiwan, Guangzhou and Malaysia.
