LAI Nga Ting Ada 黎雅婷 Ada Lai was Membership Secretary of the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild (2004-2008, 2012-2014) and Administration Secretary (2008-2012). While serving on the Guild Council, she launched the exhibitions and lectures presented in partnership with the Arts Resource Centre of the Hong Kong Central Library (2008, 2010, 2012) and the SOUND-IMAGination concert series (2012, 2013) supported by the Arts Development Council. Her works have been performed at different international and Hong Kong music festivals including the Asian Composers’ League music festivals, ISCM World Music Days, and Musicarama. Memorable commissions included “Pulsating Resonance” written especially for the 60th anniversary celebration concert of her alma mater Chung Chi College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and “Songs of Bones and Dust” composed for the Melbourne Composers League (Australia) concert “Four Colours: Indigo”. Being the Hong Kong representative at the International Rostrum of Composers held at Paris in 2006 was another memorable experience in her career. She completed her Bachelor of Arts (Music), Master of Music (Composition) and Master of Philosophy (Music Theory) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and graduated with a PhD in Composition from the University of Melbourne. AU Tin-yung Alex 歐天勇 Au Tin Yung Alex was born in Hong Kong. He is an active composer, conductor, producer, jazz pianist and a promoter of contemporary music. He received his master degree (distinction) in Composition at the University of York, supervised by Dr. Thomas Simaku. Alex's works have been widely performed in different places including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Zhuhai, Macau, Taiwan, Italy and the U.K. Besides being a professional composer, Alex is also an enthusiastic performer. He has worked with a wide range of top musicians including Lonnie William, Ted Lo, Kazuo Takeda, Iain Ballamy and Julian Arguelles, etc and also performed in several International Jazz Festivals. Furthermore, Alex held a Jazz Piano Trio Concert in 2010, in which he participated in composition, conducting and performance. Since 2007, Alex has set up a music production house (PMW Works) in Hong Kong as a music producer. He produces and arranges music for musicals, films, commercial advertisements, jingles and the local pop music industry. etc. In 2011, Alex has taken up one more role as the Founding President of Avant Music Group Association of Hong Kong (AMGA) - a non-profit association aiming at establishing a platform for the local composers and young amateur musicians and creating more opportunities for them to exchange and perform their works through interactive musical activities, so as to promote contemporary music creation, development, review and culture. 歐天勇自幼學習鋼琴，亦學習小提琴及結他。隨後受正統音樂訓練，於英國約克大學跟隨Dr. Thomas Simaku學習作曲，以優異成績取得音樂碩士學位。 同時亦跟隨Dr. John Stringer學習管弦樂指揮技巧。歐氏積極從事音樂創作、指揮、音樂推廣及演奏等工作，作品種類包括管弦樂、室樂、合唱、流行、音樂劇、電子及爵士樂等等， 其作品曾於香港、上海、珠海、澳門、台灣、英國及意大利等地公開演奏。 歐氏於2011年更榮獲DuoSolo Emerging Composer Competition第二名。 除此以外，於2007年在香港開設PMW Works音樂製作及錄音室，曾為不同機構、團體及藝人錄製音樂。歐氏更於2011年創立香港現代音樂協會 (Avant Music Group Association of Hong Kong)，積極推廣現代原創音樂及交流活動。 MAJOR WORKS 主要作品 Back

LAU Wing Fung Galison 劉詠浲 Mr. Lau’s compositions were performed or broadcasted in many places and events, including New Music From Hong Kong Concert in NYC; Intimacy of Creativity 2017 Contemporary Song Festival; ACL 2013 Singapore; ISCM – ACL World Music Days 2007; 2006 International Rostrum of Composers in Paris; the Lilian Baylis Theatre in Sadlers Wells, London; Musicarama 2005, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2017; New Generation 2005, 2006. Galison got several commissions, including Hong Kong Contemporary Music Festival 2018: Hong Kong Delights, Helsyd Piano Trio with Hong Kong New Music Ensemble in 2017; Hong Kong Arts Festival 2014; Spotlight On Young Musicians Concert Series 1; Musicarama 2010, 2012, and 2017. BROMBERG Brian Patrick# 布萊恩 Brian Patrick Bromberg began playing guitar at the age of 13 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. From this age, he was taught music through composition, jazz, and improvisation, a teaching method he utilises in his classes to this day. When in high school, James Black, a violinist with the Chicago Symphony and the conductor of a local orchestra, noticed Brian’s talent in composition. James gave him a cello and encouraged Brian to start preparing for auditions to universities. Brian attended Illinois State University where he studied cello performance with Gregory Hamilton, conducting with Glenn Block, and composition with David Feurzeig. Upon completing his bachelor’s degree, Brian was selected for the cello performance scholarship to attend the prestigious Otago University of New Zealand where he continued his compositional studies with Anthony Ritchie. It was at this time that Brian won The Philip Neill Prize for best new composition. Brian is an active composer of new music with a current repertoire that includes an extensive array of music for orchestra and chamber groups. His works have been performed by ensembles in Singapore, the USA, Canada, Croatia, Italy, Germany, New Zealand, and Australia. Apart from being a major advocate for the performance and cultivation of new music, Brian is an avid chamber and orchestral musician. He has performed with The Lukas Foss Festival Orchestra in Carnegie Hall, the Dunedin Southern Symphonia, the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, and with Singapore’s Orchestra Of Music Makers. In addition to playing cello, Brian is also an active musician in Javanese gamelan. He has performed with Gamelan Singa Nglaras for the past five years, being invited to perform at The Malay Heritage Centre, The Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, and The Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore. Brian has extensive experience teaching music at the highest levels in the United States and Singapore, a track record of collaborating with colleagues to form and coach ensembles that allow all students to develop their unique talents, and the ability to design experiences that help learners approach music with curiosity and creativity. WAN Tsz Yui Isaac 尹梓睿 As a handbell enthusiast, Wan has been keen in exploring various fields in handbell music. Having shadowed Dr John Behnke on composition and Ms Christine Chan on conducting, his accumulated experiences enabled him to further develop his passion and expertise. Wan is now a handbell conductor, composer, arranger, and ringer. He is also one of the co-founders of Hong Kong-based community handbell choir Volitio Ringers. Wan was introduced to the world of handbells when he was 12 by joining the Handbells and Handchimes Team in his secondary school. Since being chosen as the leader of the team at the age of 15, Wan has started to arrange music for performances and developed the hobby of arranging and composing music. After graduation, Wan became one of the founding members of Volitio Ringers, now one of the conductors and composers of the team.
