樂譜徵收－音樂新一代2026 First held in 1989, the New Generation Concert aims at encouraging music creativity among young composers in Hong Kong by providing a platform for performance and exchange of musical ideas. Selected compositions for New Generation 2026 will be held on 11th June 2026 (Thursday) at RTHK Studio One and recorded by RTHK Radio 4 to be broadcast later. The concert will be performed by Fung Yat-shan Linus (clarinetist). Submission Details: 1. This Call for Scores is open to Hong Kong residents born on or after 11th June 1996. 2. Eligible composers can only submit one work in PDF file. An audio recording or MIDI demo of the clarinet with electronics may be included. Recordings are welcome but not required. (Only MP3 is acceptable.) 3. The duration of each work should be within 6-8 minutes. An accurate duration of the work must be stated on the score. 4. The work should be written for electronics + clarinet in Bb/bass clarinet. 5. Three types of electronic formats are acceptable for the call for scores, they are: i. Fixed electronic playback + click track (optional) 1 audio file playback + 1 click tack (optional) ii. Live electronics without live signal processing Audio file(s) triggered by the composers during the performance Recommended software: QLab, Ableton Live, MaxMSP, etc. i. ii. Live electronic with live signal processing (1 microphone) Audio file(s) and live audio signal processing are triggered and controlled by the composer during the performance. Recommended software: Ableton Live, MaxMSP, Pure Data, etc Composers can use any kind of controller to control the electronics during performance. All the electronics for the call for submission are only for 2 Speakers. The sample rate for the electronics needs to be in 48 kHz, 24-bit. Composers are responsible for providing all necessary equipment for their performance at no cost to the organiser. Two stereo speakers will be provided by the organiser. 6. The entire score (including western notation, symbols, necessary instructions to performer; indication of electronic cues, and/or description or graphic notation of electronic sounds; and duration) must be typed and/or drawn and in black-and-white only. Hand-written score will not be accepted. Only the title and instrumentation of the composition in both English and Chinese can be shown on the title page. Name and the institution of composer cannot appear anywhere on the score. Violators will be disqualified. 7. Application fees: Waived for all members* of the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild Limited (HKCG). HK$200 for composers who are not members of HKCG. Payment must be deposited into the Guild’s HSBC account at 636-474546-838 by the deadline. Please keep the deposit slip. Application without the slip will be disqualified. 8. All submissions must include a score in PDF file, a copy of Hong Kong ID, a completed application form in PDF file, and a deposit slip (if any). They should be sent via email to grace@hkcg.org on or before 6pm, 5th April 2026 (Sunday). Late applications will not be considered. Selection Arrangement: 1. A jury panel, appointed by the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild Limited, will select works on grounds of artistic merit and performance practicality. The decision of the jury panel is final. Results will be announced in mid April 2026 through the HKCG website: www.hkcg.org . Shortlisted composers will be notified by email. 2. Each shortlisted composer must: - provide full score and electronics file(s), a short programme note, a biography in English and Chinese (maximum 200 words each), and a recent photo of high-resolution on or before 12pm, 17th April 2026 (Friday); - attend rehearsals and the New Generation Concert 2026. Composers are welcome to bring your own audio interface for rehearsal and concert. Composers who fail to attend the concert will be disqualified. Award: There are three cash awards for the most outstanding compositions: 1st place HK$6,000; 2nd place HK$4,000; 3rd place HK$2,000. Established in 1994 by 10 enthusiastic musicians, The Sregnis Singers has been singing in 'King's Singers' style'. With lots of classical choral works in its repertoire, it also does orchestral transcriptions and pop songs. Unlike the 6-part King's Singers, Sregnis Singers normally has 9 singers, with two altos and one mezzo-soprano, but it also does SSAATTBB in some occasions. The Sregnis Singers is also known for frequently performing works from local contemporary composers. It has premiered works by Doming Lam, Joyce Tang, Samuel Tam, Julian Chan, Issac Hui, Li Cheong, Eric Tse and Viola Yuen, to name a few. The Sregnis Singers was one of the Hong Kong representative teams in the Xi’an International Horticultural Exposition. It participated in Professor Victor Chan’s project in recording the “Chung Chi College 60th Anniversary Celebration Theme Song”. It also took part in pop singer Sammi Cheng’s album as a group of backup vocalists. 「合唱俠」成立於1994年，是本港第一隊無伴奏小組合唱組合 (a cappella ensemble) ，也是本港極少數的古典派無伴奏合唱組合，獲享譽全球的 King’s Singers讚譽為「音色、風格皆十分精煉」，又獲日本傳媒讚譽為「香港的Swingle Singers」。 「合唱俠」由十位熱愛小組合唱的音樂家創立，走 King's Singers 的路線，曲風和唱腔都是古典風格，classical choral 的味道強烈。一般編制是五女四男SSAAATTBB，加強了女中低音的比例，有時也會是四女四男SSAATTBB，跟六人的 King's Singers不同。選曲方面除了 King's Singers 的編曲作品、本地當代嚴肅作品外，也有一些影視改編作品和流行歌曲，跟以唱流行歌為主的本地無伴奏界別有所不同。 「合唱俠」是本地當代無伴奏合唱作品主力演出者及推廣者，曾首演多首本地無伴奏作品，包括「香港新音樂之父」林樂培、鄧慧中、譚展輝、陳玉彬、許德彰、李昌、謝建銓及阮慧玲的世界首演作品。 「合唱俠」曾應特區政府邀請，代表香港參與「西安國際園藝博覽會」表演；曾獲陳偉光教授邀請，灌錄中文大學崇基學院六十週年「崇基頌歌」；曾參與無線電視劇 “4 in Love”的配樂錄音；也曾替流行歌手鄭秀文和音。 Resonance 留聲樂團 Resonance is made up of a group of music lovers who wish to “leave” （留） the audiences a good impression of “sound” （聲）after its performance of voice-only music. The styles of its repertoire range from classical to pop, and it incorporates the music elements of the indigenous of Taiwan and Hakka as well. As a performer and an improvisor, Dr. Manabe has appeared in the United States, France, England, Germany, Singapore, South Korea and Japan. While having given premiers of the works written by established composers such as Roger Reynolds and James Tenney, she collaborates with composers of the next generations including Nicholas Deyoe, Eric Wubbles, Tomohiro Moriyama, Hibiki Mukai among others. Her recordings have been introduced widely in Europe at several music festivals and schools. Since she moved back to Japan in 2008, she has appeared regularly at the contemporary music concerts of JSCM and JFC as well as of Tokyo-based composer collective, NEXT. In 2018 Composers’ group CUE had their concert featuring Dr. Manabe. In 2006 she won the First Prize at the “Kyogaku VII” (The 7th Contemporary Music Performance Competition founded by Japan Society for Contemporary Music) as the first flute solo winner in their history. He made his solo debut with the Honolulu Symphony after winning the Honolulu Symphony Concerto Competition. He has performed in the violin sections of the Hawaii Symphony and the Cleveland Orchestra, among others. He joined the Cleveland Orchestra on tours to New York City, Chicago, Bloomington, Iowa City, Miami, and major cities in Europe, including Paris, Milan, Brussels, Luxembourg, Cologne, Munich, and Vienna. Yim has performed chamber music with members of the Juilliard, Emerson, St. Lawrence, Pacifica, and Ying Quartets, and with musicians from the Cleveland Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. He has also performed chamber music in festivals in Canada (Banff and Toronto Summer Music Festival), China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Iceland, and throughout the United States, including a recent performance in Carnegie Hall with members of the Emerson Quartet. As Guest Music Director of the Collegium Musicum Hong Kong, he collaborated with world-renowned pipa virtuoso Wu Man and performed concerts at the Hong Kong City Hall as violinist and conductor. He has performed world premieres at festivals in the United States and Europe, and he recently curated a series of concerts related to the Silk Road at the Hong Kong Museum of History for which he commissioned and premiered new works for solo violin by Michael-Thomas Foumai (Honolulu), Austin Yip (Hong Kong), and Yao Chen (Beijing). He has performed with the Contemporary Chamber Players (New York) and the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble. Yim has taught violin and chamber music at Stony Brook University, the Cleveland Institute of Music Preparatory Department, the Interlochen Summer Arts Camp, the Flatirons Chamber Music Festival, and the Rushmore Music Festival. He has taught masterclasses and workshops in the United States, Denmark, Iceland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. He is a graduate with honours of the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) where he was a student of David Updegraff and William Preucil and was awarded the First Prize at the Institute’s Darius Milhaud Performance Prize Competition for two consecutive years. At CIM, he studied chamber music with the Cavani Quartet and Peter Salaff of the Cleveland Quartet. He earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Stony Brook University where he studied violin with Philip Setzer, Jennifer Frautschi, and Hagai Shaham, and chamber music with the Emerson Quartet. He is Assistant Professor in the Department of Music at Hong Kong Baptist University. 小提琴家嚴天成生於火奴魯魯，曾以獨奏家、室內樂及樂團成員身份在世界各地演出，包括紐約的卡奈基音樂廳、大衛‧ 爵芬音樂廳、首爾藝術中心、雷克雅未克的哈巴音樂廳、香港大會堂、克里夫蘭的西雅雲斯音樂廳、芝加哥的樂隊音樂廳、米蘭的斯卡拉歌劇院、維也納的金色大廳等。 嚴氏贏得火奴魯魯交響樂團的協奏曲比賽後，與該交響樂團合作，首度以獨奏者身份擔綱演出。他曾擔任夏威夷交響樂團、克里夫蘭樂團等樂團的小提琴手。他曾參與克里夫蘭樂團的巡迴演出，到訪紐約市、芝加哥、布明頓、愛俄華市、邁亞美，以及歐洲多個重要城市，包括巴黎、米蘭、布魯塞爾、盧森堡、科隆、慕尼黑、維也納等。 嚴氏亦熱衷於室樂演奏，曾與茱莉亞弦樂四重奏、愛默森弦樂四重奏、聖羅倫斯弦樂四重奏、太平洋弦樂四重奏、英弦樂四重奏的成員合作演出，亦曾與克里夫蘭樂團、紐約管弦樂團的成員演出室內樂。他曾參與演出室樂藝術節的國家包括加拿大（班夫及多倫多夏季音樂節）、中國、捷克、丹麥、冰島及美國。最近與愛默森弦樂四重奏成員在卡奈基音樂廳中演出。 嚴氏曾以 Collegium Musicum Hong Kong 客席音樂總監身份與世界知名的琵琶演奏家吳蠻合作，在香港大會堂中演出，負責擔任指揮和小提琴手。 嚴氏曾為作品作世界首演，在美國及歐洲的音樂節中演出。最近他為香港歷史博物館策劃一系列以絲綢之路為主題的音樂會，委約和首演米高–湯瑪士‧富奈（火奴魯魯）、葉浩堃（香港）和姚晨（北京）的小提琴獨奏作品。他曾參與紐約當代室樂合奏團和香港創樂團的音樂會。 嚴氏曾於石溪大學、克里夫蘭音樂學院附屬中學教授小提琴和室內樂；亦在 Interlochen暑期藝術營、法提康室樂音樂節、羅斯摩爾音樂節中擔任導師；並在美國、丹麥、冰島、香港、臺灣和中國主持大師班和工作坊。 嚴氏畢業於克里夫蘭音樂學院，師隨大衛‧ 愛德嘉夫和威廉‧ 浦西爾，連續兩年獲得該學院的米堯演奏比賽首獎。在學期間，曾隨卡雲尼弦樂四重奏以及克里夫蘭弦樂四重奏的彼得‧ 沙拉夫學習。其後嚴氏入讀石溪大學，隨菲臘‧ 薩沙、珍妮花‧ 費殊、夏佳‧ 沙函學習小提琴、愛默森弦樂四重奏學習室內樂演奏，取得音樂藝術博士學位。 嚴氏現任香港浸會大學音樂系助理教授。 Other Concerts of the Festival 其他音樂節音樂會
