NG Chun-hoi Daniel
吳俊凱

Ng Chun Hoi, Daniel serves as a music educator, composer and music critic. Ng studied composition with David Gwilt at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and with Anne Boyd and Doming Lam at the University of Hong Kong. He also undertook research in Chinese music and teacher education and obtained his doctoral degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Ng has taught music courses such as theory and composition, music education and Chinese music at various institutions including the Hong Kong Institute of Education, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts and the Hong Kong Music Institute.


He is often commissioned for new works by different organizations and a number of his work has been performed and broadcast in Hong Kong and overseas. His publications include vocal and choral compositions published in an anthology: the Hong Kong Vocal Music Collection, a chamber work Lyric Dialogues published in discography by Hugo Productions; a violin duet, Nocturne published by Red House Editions; Moody for clarinet and piano; Morning Rain for piano solo published by the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild; November Winds for string quartet and Prelude II (Wuxing Interaction) for 2 guitars published in discography distributed by Navona Records.


吳俊凱為資深音樂教育工作者、作曲家和樂評人,先後於香港中文大學和香港大學隨紀大衛、梅安妮和林樂培學習作曲,並於澳洲新南威爾斯大學取得哲學博士學位,專注研究中國音樂與師資培訓的課題。吳氏曾於韓國、澳洲、日本、美國和香港等地發表和出版多篇學術論文和教育著作,包括《學習潮州弦詩樂》教學光碟、《歌樂流芳—黃自音樂賞析與教學專集》等。歷任香港教育學院講師、香港浸會大學及香港演藝學院客席講師及香港音樂專科學校教務長,教授作曲、音樂理論和中國音樂等課程。


在音樂創作方面,吳氏經常獲不同團體委約創作,作品亦多次於本港及海外廣播和演出。已出版的作品包括於香港聲樂作品集發表的四首聲樂曲,雨果唱片公司灌錄的室樂作品【抒情對話】,澳洲Red House Editions出版的小提琴二重奏【夜曲】,香港作曲家聯會出版的單簧管與鋼琴二重奏【情緒】,鋼琴獨奏【南山朝雨】,由Navona Records發行的弦樂四重奏【秋意涼】及結他二重奏【前奏曲II-五行】等。
