Chan Nok-him has studied piano and cello since he was small and first started learning composition at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, studying under Poly Ng. He has participated in the international Golden Key Music Festival’s Piano Composition Competition, attaining first runner-up and second runner-up honours. He was also the champion and first runner-up in the Composition Class in the 70th and 68th Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals, respectively. He was shortlisted twice in the ‘New Generation Call for Scores’ organized by the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild. His Shing Mun River Promenade was premiered in a live broadcast on RTHK Radio 4.

自小學習鋼琴及大提琴，九歲起在演藝學院修讀作曲，師從伍巧怡老師。熱愛作曲的他，曾參加國際作曲比賽「金鑰匙音樂節鋼琴作曲比賽」 並榮獲第二及第三名，並分別於第七十屆及第六十八屆校際音樂節作曲組獲得冠軍和亞軍。另外，陳氏曾兩次入圍香港作曲家聯會舉辦的「音樂新一代」作曲比賽，其作品《城門河邊的散步》於香港電台第四台作現場首演及電台轉播。
