Lam Fung's output ranges from original concert to media works to various arrangements. His music has been performed in Australia, Israel, Japan, UK, USA, as well as in Hong Kong, at occasions such as Cheltenham International Music Festival (UK), BASBWE RNCM International Wind Festival in Manchester (UK), Asian Composers' League Asian Music Festivals in 2003, 2004 and 2007, and the inaugural BBC Electric Proms in London in 2006. Performers of his music have included the BBC Philharmonic with James MacMillan, BBC Concert Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra with Li Xin-Cao, Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra, Australian group Halcyon, and cellist Frances-Marie Uitti.
Fung has also provided music for the Japanese play Festival for the Fish (2004) in London, the Radio Television Hong Kong TV documentary series Weather III (2005), and Philharmonia Orchestra’s virtual orchestra installation at the South Bank Centre in London in 2006. His music has received broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and RTHK Radio 4.
Fung read music at Southampton University (UK), where he graduated with an MA in Composition in 2002. His compositions teachers have included Martin Butler, Michael Finnissy and Michael Zev Gordon.
